Mini Certificate in Complex Trauma Webinar

ID: 1043WEB

This four part webinar series provides an introduction to the essential practice principles of providing ethical, compassionate and helpful psychotherapy for adults who have experienced complex trauma. Each session is three hours in length, with breaks and small group exercise/discussion sessions built into the webinars. The workshop is designed for clinicians who may be new to working with complex trauma-spectrum problems, as well as for more experienced clinicians in various clinical settings. Drawing upon the most current conceptualizations of complex trauma, clinicians will learn the essential principles of a phase-oriented, relational approach. Utilizing a resilience based, attachment-focused framework, clinicians will learn and explore strategies for establishing safety and stability; processing traumatic memories while simultaneously safely exploring traumatic experiences; and mourning the losses of childhood while building a life of choice and agency in adulthood. In order to foster the kind of depth-oriented learning required to address the topic, the workshop is designed as a “closed cohort model”, i.e., the same group of participants will be enrolled for the multi-part online learning sequence, which will include working in small groups to promote experiential learning.
