As an individual who works with the senior population, you may need additional knowledge about federal, state, county and community resources that will enhance the quality of life for this segment of the population. This webinar will provide information on seeking resources and an overview of resources such as financial, health, housing, nutritional, and recreational programs. About the Instructor

Donna Gapas is an LCSW specializing in individual, couples and family therapy. She has over 33 years of experience as a leader, trainer and therapist. She completed her undergraduate degree at Rutgers University. She received her MSW from Hunter College majoring in mental health and group therapy and is a seasoned practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise include gerontology and the treatment of trauma, anxiety disorders, depression, addiction, and grief.

In addition to being a therapist, Donna Gapas has presented at National conferences and to general audiences providing training on topics of Aging, Leadership, Addiction, Crisis Intervention, Family Dynamics and Cultural Diversity. She was a part-time lecturer for ten years at the Rutgers University School of Social Work - teaching courses on Adult Violence, Human Behavior, Social Welfare Policy and Diversity and Oppression.

She is a trainer for Adult Protective Services certification courses for the State of NJ. In addition, she is a trainer for the Institute for Families at the Rutgers SSW specializing in topics related to gerontology, family therapy, leadership, cultural competence and clinical skills. She is currently in Full time private practice in Lebanon, NJ.
