This webinar will include an in-depth examination of compelling and complex ethical challenges in social work. Moving beyond introductory ethics concepts, Dr. Frederic Reamer will explore difficult ethical issues and practical strategies designed to protect clients and help prevent litigation and licensing board complaints. The webinar will include a series of challenging ethics cases and discuss practical steps that professionals can take to manage ethical issues skillfully. Key topics will include boundary issues, dual relationships, conflicts of interest, confidentiality, privileged communication, informed consent, technology use and remote delivery of services, clients’ rights, termination of services, and documentation challenges. The webinar will include discussion of relevant ethics standards; practice standards; and statutes, regulations, and case law. Dr. Reamer will make extensive use of case material. *This webinar does not qualify for NBCC clock hours in ethics.
