Using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to Inform Social Work Policy and Practice

Drawing on spatial analysis, this hands-on webinar introduces attendees to basic geographic information system (GIS) methods. Using their computers, census data, and Social Explorer, attendees will learn how to create maps that depict population distribution, demographic trends, and residential locations of racial groups. No mathematical or computer sophistication is required. Participants who take this webinar will leave with a better understanding of how to use GIS to inform social work policy and practice.
