Becoming a Trans-Inclusive Clinician: A Basic Overview of Transgender Concerns and Clinical Considerations

Transgender people are frequently ignored or presented as a subset of lesbian and gay populations in both physical and mental health settings. This training will specifically address clinical concerns of the transgender community including: identity, barriers to care, transition support, legislative developments and resources. Participants will gain a basic understanding of gender identity development, trans vocabulary, and ways to address trans issues throughout the life cycle. Working with a focus on trauma-related practice is highlighted.
