Working with Latino Cultures

This training will expose the participants to the Stages of Cultural Identity Development Model. Through small group discussions, role plays, case vignettes and large group participation, they will increase their knowledge of Latino cultural norms including machismo, personalismo, etc, identity in the US and group differences stemming from country or region of origin, cultural and family factors that influence relationships and perceptions of heath/illness and mental health services. Participants will also learn skills and techniques to facilitate positive engagement with Latino families.
