Structural Family Therapy in the School System

The workshop will address the philosophical beliefs of Structural Family Therapy and explore some common misconceptions about it. Group discussion will identify how the culture of school systems predominantly focuses on the child and not the family, and will demonstrate the value of introducing a Structural Family Therapy perspective into schools. Participants will watch a Structural Family Therapy session with a child who is school avoidant. The class will then evaluate data from a school district on how Structural Family Therapy made a significant impact on the students attendance and grades.

This workshop does not have any offerings for this semester.
