Dealing with Supervisory Challenges in Non-Clinical Settings

The supervisory relationship is one of the most critical relationships in the development of the helping professional through the course of a career. This relationship and its dynamics model elements of leadership, management, conflict resolution and mentorship that influence future supervisory relationships. In this interactional workshop, participants through short lecture, PowerPoint, small and large group discussion learn to recognize types of challenging behaviors that are addressed in supervision; identify and utilize appropriate supervisory responses; and implement concrete tools to manage and plan for challenges in the supervisory relationship.
