Schema Therapy: Basics and Beyond

ID: 5274

Schema therapy is an innovative psychotherapy approach developed by Dr. Jeffrey Young for personality disorders, chronic depression, and other difficult individual and couples problems. Schema therapy integrates elements of cognitive therapy, behavior therapy, object relations, and gestalt therapy into one unified, systematic approach to treatment. The model is effective in addressing life-long self-defeating patterns of functioning. This two-day workshop will offer an introduction to the Schema Therapy Model and its main components including the 18 maladaptive schemas. Day two expends on the main components of the Schema Therapy Model and focuses primarily on maladaptive modes. We will use case studies and videos to highlight the theory and techniques.
