Cultural Competency in Case Management-WEB

This webinar focuses on the importance of cultural competency when working in social services with culturally diverse populations. The training will allow participants to identify their own culture and ethnicity and discover the difference between culture and ethnicity. The difference between cultural sensitivity, cultural diversity and cultural competence will be discussed. The DSM V Appendix I for cultural formulation and cultural bound syndromes will be discussed to include three syndromes as examples. Resources available in New Jersey for cultural competence will be discussed and contact information made available. The materials used are a PowerPoint presentation with handouts and an individual and group activity. [Elective for Case Management Certificate]
