Binge Eating Disorder: Assessment and Disorder

Of all the eating disorders, binge eating disorder (BED) is one of the most common. Unfortunately, many people that present with this disorder are misdiagnosed and often don't receive appropriate treatment. This is due in part to misconceptions about the disorder itself, and also the attitude of some well-intentioned professionals in helping spaces. This webinar provides basic tools to assess binge eating, explores how binge eating differs from "food addiction", and outlines common treatment modalities. Other topics that will be touched upon include the roles of dieting, neuropsychology, and stress reactivity. Resources will be provided so that helpers can leave feeling more confident in helping those with BED. This is a survey level introductory workshop, although all are welcome to attend.

This workshop does not have any offerings for this semester.
