Beyond Checking and Washing: Understanding and Treating the Obsessive Compulsive Spectrum-WEB

ID: 5056WEB

Once thought to be a rare psychiatric illness, obsessive-compulsive disorder is now recognized to be quite common as 2-3 million Americans are believed to have it. Although they are not as well known as OCD, several other disorders share significant characteristics with it, and are now considered as part of the obsessive-compulsive spectrum. These include body dysmorphic disorder, hypochondriasis, and impulse control disorders such as trichotillomania and compulsive skin picking. The primary purpose of this webinar is to familiarize attendees with the various diagnoses on the spectrum, to review cognitive and behavioral manifestations of each, and to thoroughly explore forms of treatment.
