Suicide Prevention with Trans Youth-WEB

ID: 5258WEB

The risk of suicide increases for trans individuals when they participate in single gendered therapy group(s) and other treatment modalities with cisgender patients. Trans individuals are often subject to microaggressions that go unaddressed when clinicians, social work professors, and students are uneducated and misinformed about the neurological and genetic research literature that address the needs and concerns of this population . This webinar through lecture, case study and interactive discussion will educate participants on the needs of trans individuals, address and identify suicide risk assessment techniques, and create a respectful space where participant questions can be answered.
