Body Image and the Media-WEB

ID: 5110WEB

The average child sees 1000+ ads a day through media. Is the media contributing to the rise in disordered eating and eating disorders in children as young as age 5? You bet! This presentation explores the history of body image in the United States and the correlation to growing eating/body related disorders. We will explore body perception, watch how people are digitally altered for magazines and movies and learn the truth about the latest diet trends and how they tie into celebrities, gang members, veterans and the LGBTQIAA communities.
