Compassion Fatigue during COVID-19: Integrative Solutions-WEB

ID: 5822WEB

Compassion Fatigue, sometimes referred to as burnout, is considered secondary trauma stemming from empathetic listening to and engagement with other’s traumatic stories. Covid-19 is an international pandemic, an invisible disaster affecting both clients and clinicians. Therefore, clinicians, in a dual status, lack therapeutic, professional distance. Name it to tame it. This trauma-informed webinar will put words and explanation to compassion fatigue in a pandemic, including unusual fatigue from telehealth. A plethora of solutions from standard (gratitude, active listening, reframes, therapeutic metaphors) and somatic approaches ( the Emotional Freedom Techniques aka Tapping and others) for use by clinicians and clients as we mutually try to find a “new normal” and resilience. This webinar will be experiential. Included are neurobiological explanations of how these solutions calm us, enhance our needed, healthy immune system and motivate for inclusion into practice.
