Understanding and Managing Problem Behaviors

Problem behaviors present a significant barrier to community life and success for many people with developmental disabilities. This workshop will review approaches to investigating the reasons for the existence of problem behaviors and strategies for the management of problem behaviors. Mental health considerations, person-centered approaches, including positive behavior supports, and behavior analytic perspectives to assessing and treating problem behavior will be discussed.
