Individual Treatment Approaches in Working with Trauma

ID: 5858

The decision for someone to seek help, rely on oneself, or do nothing about a problem after a traumatic event is a complicated one. Providing clinicians with an overview of the major stages for the help-seeking process is a necessary step. The goal of treatment is to improve the quality of life for the survivor(s). Discussion will examine features of traumatic events, theories of intervention, treatment of comorbid disorders, and aspects of post-traumatic personal growth.
